The Aftermath of #APN

Well nearly three weeks on and not really the ideal recovery period from riding nearly 700miles in 3 and a half days.

Straight back on school pick up 5 hours after finishing and then back to work on the Tuesday.

3 days later Friday 10th June comes, it is the day of the original main aim of the year. A trail marathon… another early start but not as early as the week before and off to lovely Ladybower.

A 26mile run was just what was needed…4hrs20mins later with a bit off piss taking, job was done ✅ nice one Rick on completing your first marathon 👏👏👍🏻👍🏻

A quick brew and off to the Macclesfield Wheelers, Cliff lane Hill climb. Legs a bit smashed and Tom complete with his flippers beat me. Nice one 💥

Saturday 11th… at last a lie in…only a quick trout run for a old trout to do today.

Another busy week with work and kids and it’s weekend and playtime again 😁. Mountain mayhem is this weeks treat. After a week of scorching temps it is set to go back to winter for the weekend. Early start again and after taking a few wrong turns including heading north on the M1 instead of south. We got to Marsdon Lodge and set up camp 🏕

Before I know I am doing the start running lap, running in cycling shoes is not easy!!

Then the 6hour race in the mixed pairs category with Mr Dave Thorpe. After 6 laps I had just about worked out how to ride a MTB again!

Matt and joe are also racing. They won and we got 3rd 🥉 👏👏😁👍🏻👍🏻

Both teams were expertly supported by Team Manager Jill Wesley and coat carrier Kate G Thanks team 😍

Home and a few normal steady weeks on the cards. Need to decide on what’s nexts 😊
